Economic Profile

The City of Adelanto has enjoyed a growth rate of over 113% according to the current 2000 census report, despite the uncertainties within the economy.

Adelanto's residential market has provided the City with over 250 homes since the second half of 2001, and with the existing development agreements with several home builders approved by the City Council, the City will have over 1,200 committed to construction in 2002/2003. The City's Manufacturing and Industrial Markets have continued to attract companies with an employment base of over 4,800 jobs within its manufacturing area since 1991, and has continued to provide a true "Fast Track" permit process that is producing an average of one new manufacturing company or an expansion of an exiting facility per month. Several Parcels within the Industrial Parks are currently in Escrow for future manufacturing businesses.

The City is also working with developers to construct a privately managed sport
complex adjacent to Maverick Stadium. In addition to the aforementioned project, the City is working with various developers on a beverage manufacturing company, a name brand super market. Neighboring Southern California Logistics Airport, which has a bright future for growth and development, and the 26,000 vehicles which travel through Adelanto along Highway 395 daily, is helping Adelanto to continue its industrial and housing growth.
